A student from Philippine Women’s College fondly shares his insights and learnings from the OVP’s “EXTRA+ORDINARY: THE VICE PRESIDENTS OF THE PHILIPPINES” pop-up exhibit, which serves as one of the highlights of the institution’s 90th celebration.
Following successful launches in major malls and universities across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, the Office of the Vice President (OVP) has brought its traveling 90th-anniversary exhibit, "Extra+Ordinary: The Vice Presidents of the Philippines," to the Philippine Women’s College (PWC) of Davao.
The exhibit is part of a year-long journey following the OVP’s 90th Founding Anniversary last November 2025. By bringing the office’s history out of the archives and into schools and communities, the OVP aims to showcase the evolution of the vice presidency since its establishment in 1935.
Connecting Classroom Lessons to Real-World Leadership
Running at PWC from February 23 to March 9, the exhibit features historical photos, archives, and the legacies of the 14 men and women who have served as the nation’s second-in-command.
For Senior High School student Nemesio Mercado III, the exhibit’s arrival in Davao provided a unique bridge between his textbooks and reality.
"It’s helpful to know the contribution of our vice presidents because we don’t always realize how big their role was," Mercado shared. "I am very interested in history, especially the time of Vice President Lopez.”
A Nationwide Movement
The stop at PWC Davao is just one chapter in a larger story. To celebrate 90 years of the institution, the exhibit will continue to travel across the country, partnering with civic-minded organizations, universities, and local hubs.
This nationwide tour will culminate in November 2026, marking the official 91st anniversary of the OVP. By bringing these stories to the grassroots level, the OVP aims to inspire a new generation of Filipinos to value public service and actively engage in civic participation.

“It is helpful to know the contribution of our vice presidents because we don’t know how big the contribution was for our country. I am very interested in history, especially the time of Vice President Lopez,” saad pa ni Mercado.
Ang “Extra+Ordinary: The Vice Presidents of the Philippines” pop-up exhibit ng Tanggapan ay inaasahang dadalhin sa mas marami pang lugar sa bansa ngayong taon.
