The Office of the Vice President (OVP) honored its Department of Education (DepEd) partners at this year’s Pasidungog, recognizing their key contributions to OVP programs for Filipinos.
The Office of the Vice President (OVP) has recognized its partners from the Department of Education (DepEd) during this year’s annual Pasidungog, a tribute to individuals and institutions that have significantly contributed to the success of the OVP programs for the Filipino people.
Among the awardees were the DepEd Schools Division of Quirino Province, DepEd Schools Division of Sorsogon Province, and the National Book Development Board. These institutions were acknowledged for their outstanding support in the implementation of Vice President Sara Z. Duterte’s flagship program, PagbaBAGo: A Million Learners and Trees Campaign.
Superintendent Madelyn Macalling of DepEd Quirino expressed her deep gratitude to the Vice President and the OVP for their unwavering commitment to education; “I would like to personally extend my gratitude to the OVP. We extend also our gratefulness to Hon. Sara Duterte for giving yourself to the Filipino people, especially to the learners – giving yourself wholeheartedly in selfless service to everyone.”
Supt. Macalling also highlighted the value of a strong partnership between the DepEd and the OVP in reaching and supporting both students and teachers in the province; “The partnership is very strong and it is easier for us to reach the people of OVP every time we need something for the learners and even for the teachers of Quirino Province. Anytime, anywhere, they will respond immediately and give their full support to our programs, projects, and activities.”
Meanwhile, Superintendent Jose Doncillo of DepEd Sorsogon underscored the tangible impact of the collaboration on learners, particularly those in underserved communities; “Maraming salamat sa opisina ng ating mahal na Bise Presidente. Ang prayoridad na ibinibigay sa edukasyon ay nagpapakita lamang ng patuloy na pagmamalasakit sa mga batang Pilipino,” (Many thanks to the office of our beloved Vice President. The priority given to education reflects a continued commitment and genuine concern for Filipino children.)
“This partnership has improved access to our learners, especially those who come from deprived communities. They were given school supplies and other assistance from the OVP. Education is always a priority of any government, and we are grateful to the Office of the Vice President for extending support to the schoolchildren of underserved communities,” Doncillo added.
Both officials acknowledged that the PagbaBAGo campaign has helped ease the burden faced by many families in meeting their children's educational needs and has inspired learners to strive harder in school.
The annual Pasidungog ceremony is part of the OVP’s continued efforts to honor and strengthen partnerships that enable the delivery of essential services, especially in education, across the country.

A Million Learners and Trees Campaign.
Nagpahayag ng taos-pusong pasasalamat si Superintendent Madelyn Macalling ng DepEd Quirino sa Pangalawang Pangulo at sa OVP para sa patuloy na pagtutok sa edukasyon: “I would like to personally extend my gratitude to the OVP. We extend also our gratefulness to Hon. Sara Duterte for giving yourself to the Filipino people, especially to the learners – giving yourself wholeheartedly in selfless service to everyone.”
The partnership is very strong and it is easier for us to reach the people of OVP every time we need something for the learners and even for the teachers of Quirino Province. Anytime, anywhere, they will respond immediately and give their full support to our programs, projects, and activities.”
