Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from Mamburao, Province of Occidental Mindoro, each receive 15,000 in additional venture capital through the OVP’s Magnegosyo Ta ‘Day program.
Many Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from Mamburao, Province of Occidental Mindoro, were among the newest beneficiaries of Magnegosyo Ta ‘Day—a flagship program of the Office of the Vice President—which enabled our kababayans to grow their businesses and stabilize their monthly income.
Among the beneficiaries was Mirasol Francisco, a poultry farmer. Through MTD, Mirasol received ₱15,000 in additional venture capital, which she used to acquire vital supplies for her family’s poultry farm.
Jona Casidsid—a long-time fish vendor—also benefited from the program. With the rising costs in the fishing trade, the livelihood grant paved the way for the expansion of her business, giving customers a wider selection of fresh fish.
“Sa Office of the Vice President, lalo na po sa programang Magnegosyo Ta’ Day, maraming maraming salamat dahil isa kami sa recipient. Ngayon lang kami naka-experience na mabigyan ng livelihood program na ganito kalaki—first time,” (To the Office of the Vice President, especially its Magnegosyo Ta’ Day program, thank you for choosing us as beneficiaries. This is the first time we have experienced receiving a livelihood grant of this scale), Casidsid said.
The program also assists student-entrepreneurs such as Darry Rubia, who sells chicken pastil and spam musubi while pursuing his bachelor’s degree.
According to Darry, the MTD program significantly helped ensure the stability of his business and its daily operations.
The Magnegosyo Ta ‘Day program is among the cluster of initiatives launched by then Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte and later brought to the national level, helping thousands of entrepreneurs across the country.
Last year, the MTD program assisted more than three thousand individuals, each of whom received ₱15,000 in cash assistance, while 18 civil society organizations received ₱100,000 each.
