The Office of the Vice President (OVP) recognized its valued partners from the Visayas region during the recently held Pasidungog 2025.
The Office of the Vice President (OVP) recognized its valued partners from the Visayas region during the recently held Pasidungog 2025, an annual tribute to individuals and institutions that played a vital role in the successful delivery of public service across the country.
Among the awardees were the Cebu South District Volunteers, long-time community partners of OVP–Cebu, Bohol, and Siquijor Satellite Office. The group has been instrumental in assisting during OVP outreach programs and in disseminating information on how the public can avail of government services, particularly those under the Office of the Vice President.
“Dako kaayo kog pasalamat sa ilaha na usa mi na naapil na grupo na naapil sa Pasidungog 2025, ug nakaabot mi diri sa Davao. Magpadayon mi og tabang sa OVP as volunteers,” (We are deeply grateful that our group was among those recognized during Pasidungog 2025, and that we were able to travel to Davao City to receive this honor. We remain committed to continue volunteering for the OVP whenever we are needed) said Ester Sarda, representative of the Cebu South District Volunteers.
Another key partner recognized was Paglaom Pharmacy, one of the first pharmacies to collaborate with the OVP–Cebu, Bohol, and Siquijor Satellite Office under its Medical Assistance Program.
According to Perceus Acedillo, owner of Paglaom Pharmacy, their partnership with the OVP since 2023 has helped over 14,000 patients, especially those with serious and chronic conditions.
As a specialty pharmacy, they provided free medicines to patients undergoing cancer treatment, dialysis, and those with terminal illnesses, as well as individuals living with mental health conditions and HIV-AIDS.
With OVP’s support, they also extended free medication to patients suffering from hypertension and other common ailments.
“Dako kaayo akong kalipay na naapil mi sa Paglaom Pharmacy na gipasidunggan sa OVP tungod sa among pakig-partner sa ilaha. Last year sa 2024, daghan kaayo ang ni-avail sa pagkaila nila na ang Office of the Vice President nga naay medical assistance. Manghinaot ug gina-ampo namo na mubalik unta ang Medical Assistance Program sa Office of the Vice President,” (I am very happy that Paglaom Pharmacy was among those honored by the OVP because of our partnership with them. Last year, in 2024, many people were able to avail themselves of help when they learned about the Office of the Vice President’s medical assistance program. We sincerely hope and pray that the Medical Assistance Program of the Office of the Vice President will be brought back,) Acedillo shared.
In her message, Vice President Sara Duterte expressed sincere gratitude to all OVP partners who have been instrumental in delivering vital services to Filipinos, “Hindi naming magagawa ang aming mga programa kung wala ang aming mga partners,” (We wouldn’t be able to carry out our programs without the help of our partners.)
She also acknowledged the commitment of healthcare providers who support the objectives of the OVP’s Medical Assistance Program stating that; “Nagpapasalamat kami sa kanila, sa ating mga healthcare institutions sa kanilang partnership sa Office of the Vice President and sa kanilang recognition sa kahalagahan noong serbisyo na naibibigay natin sa mga underserved communities natin hindi lang dito sa Mindanao kundi sa buong Pilipinas,” (We thank our healthcare institutions for their partnership and for recognizing the value of the services we extend to underserved communities, not only in Mindanao but across the country.)
However, the Vice President lamented the recent discontinuation of the Medical and Burial Assistance Program, citing that the OVP was unable to allocate funds due to the removal of the specific budget line in the General Appropriations Act.
“Nakakalungkot lang dahil wala na kasi kaming Medical and Burial Assistance, ito ay tinanggal, hindi naming siya malagyan ng budget dahil tinganggal talaga ‘yung line na item sa Office of the Vice President, lumabas ‘yung budget ng Office of the Vice President sa General Appropriations Act kaya’t matitigil yung Medical and Burial Assistance pero masaya kami dahil nandiyaan pa rin ‘yung mga healthcare institutions na handa makipag-partnership sa mga susunod na taon,”(It’s unfortunate that we can no longer offer medical and burial assistance. The budget line for this was removed, and therefore, we couldn’t fund the program. But we are encouraged by the continued willingness of healthcare institutions to collaborate with us in the future,) Duterte stated.
The Pasidungog 2025 event served not only as a recognition ceremony but also as a reaffirmation of the OVP’s commitment to community service through partnerships anchored on compassion, volunteerism, and public trust.

Kinilala ng Office of the Vice President (OVP) ang mga katuwang nito mula sa rehiyon ng Visayas sa katatapos na Pasidungog 2025, isang taunang pagkilala sa mga indibidwal at institusyon na naging mahalagang bahagi sa matagumpay na paghahatid ng serbisyo publiko sa buong bansa.
Kabilang sa mga pinarangalan ang Cebu South District Volunteers, matagal nang kaagapay ng OVP–Cebu, Bohol, at Siquijor Satellite Office. Ang grupo ay naging aktibo sa pagtulong sa mga outreach program ng OVP at sa pagbibigay-kaalaman sa publiko kung paano makakakuha ng mga serbisyo ng pamahalaan, lalo na mula sa Tanggapan ng Pangalawang Pangulo.

Bilang isang specialty pharmacy, namigay sila ng libreng gamot para sa mga pasyenteng sumasailalim sa cancer treatment, dialysis, at mga may terminal illness, pati na rin sa mga indibidwal na may mental health conditions at HIV-AIDS. Sa tulong ng OVP, nakapagbigay rin sila ng libreng gamot para sa hypertension at iba pang karaniwang sakit.

Sa kanyang mensahe, ipinaabot ni Vice President Sara Duterte ang taos-pusong pasasalamat sa lahat ng katuwang ng OVP na tumulong sa paghahatid ng mahahalagang serbisyo sa mga Pilipino, “Hindi naming magagawa ang aming mga programa kung wala ang aming mga partners.”

Gayunpaman, ipinahayag ng Pangalawang Pangulo ang kanyang panghihinayang sa pagtigil ng Medical and Burial Assistance Program, dahil hindi ito nalagyan ng pondo matapos matanggal ang budget line item sa General Appropriations Act.
