The Office of the Vice President and its Satellite Offices join the nationwide tree-planting activity in celebration of Earth Day.
The Office of the Vice President (OVP), through its satellite offices, planted thousands of trees in solidarity with the celebration of Earth Day this April.
Personnel from the OVP–Southern Mindanao Satellite Office went to Mt. Hamiguitan Range Wildlife Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in San Isidro, Davao Oriental, and successfully planted around 5,000 indigenous trees, including narra and bayog.
A mix of fruit-bearing and native trees was also planted in Barangay San Juan, Maria Aurora, Aurora. This activity was spearheaded by the OVP–Cagayan Valley and Pangasinan Satellite Office.
Meanwhile, the BARMM Satellite Office planted approximately 5,000 narra and bamboo seedlings across multiple sites in the region, including the Barangay Tambo, Municipality of Madamba; and Lake Labuan in Lanao del Sur; Mt. Kabalukan in Barangay Masulot, and Ligawasan Marsh in Barangay Darampua, Sultan Sa Barongis, Maguindanao del Sur.
In Bicol, around 2,000 mangrove propagules were planted in Poblacion, Capalonga, Camarines Norte.
The OVP Panay and Negros Islands Satellite Office also conducted the same activity in Barangay Calumangan, Bago City, while the Western Mindanao Satellite Office joined in Barangay Mampang, Zamboanga City.
These tree-planting initiatives are part of the OVP’s commitment to environmental conservation and climate action through its PagbaBAGo: A Million Trees Campaign.

Samantala, ang Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Satellite Office ay nagtanim ng humigit-kumulang 5,000 punla ng narra at bamboo sa iba’t ibang lugar, kabilang ang Sultan Sa Barongis sa Maguindanao del Sur.
Hindi naman bababa sa 2,000 mangrove propagules ang itinanim ng Bicol Satellite Office sa Capalonga, Camarines Norte, habang ang OVP-Panay at Negros Islands Satellite Office ay nagsagawa rin ng pagtatanim sa Lungsod ng Bago, Negros Occidental.
