The Office of the Vice President (OVP), through its Disaster Operations Center (DOC), delivered more than 3,000 relief boxes to families in nine barangays across Bulacan province that were recently affected by severe flooding brought by Typhoon Auring.
Each family received a Rice Food Box containing five kilograms of rice, canned goods, and other essential items to help them recover from the calamity.
Abegail, a resident of Barangay Mandile in San Miguel, Bulacan, expressed her gratitude for the assistance, noting how critical it was for families like hers who struggle to buy necessities; “Ay malaki (tulong) po lalo na po kami bumibili lang po kami ng bigas. Minsan po bumibili kami limang kilo, dalawang kilo, kung ano lang po ‘yung kaya ng budget. Maraming maraming salamat po kay Vice President Sara Duterte at malaking tulong po ‘yung ibinigay po nila sa barangay po namin,” (It’s really a big help for us, especially since we usually have to buy rice in small amounts—sometimes five kilos, sometimes just two, depending on what we can afford. We’re very grateful to Vice President Sara Duterte for the assistance they provided to our barangay. It’s truly a huge help.)
The OVP Disaster Operations Center was established under the leadership of Vice President Sara Duterte to deliver timely and organized response to communities affected by disasters.
