Vice President and Department of Education Secretary Inday Sara Duterte checked the condition of soldiers wounded in an encounter in Maguindanao del Sur.
The wounded soldiers were confined at the Camp Siongco General Hospital in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte.
During her visit on March 18, VP Sara thanked the wounded soldiers for their bravery in fighting against terrorists.
She underscored the importance of peace in realizing the nation’s aspiration for stability and development.
“Peace and security is the bedrock of development,” she said.
She also expressed gratitude to the soldiers for ensuring that public school teachers in communities in Maguindanao are safe.
“Thank you for your service to our country,” she said.

Sa kanyang pagbisita, isa-isang kinausap at kinumusta ni Inday Sara ang sitwasyon ng bawat sugatang sundalo.
Sinaluduhan din ng Bise Presidente ang katapangan, dedikasyon, at sakripisyo ng bawat sundalo sa kanilang serbisyo para sa bayan at para na rin sa kaligtasan ng bawat mamamayang Pilipino.
Sinabi ni Inday Sara sa mga sundalo, “nagpapasalamat din kami sa tulong ninyo sa mga teachers, sa Department of Education na paaralan at iba pang mga paaralan. Maraming Salamat sa serbisyo ninyo sa bayan.”
