In her message, VP Sara emphasized that the annual celebration serves as a powerful reminder of the deep-rooted spirituality of Filipinos, underscored by devotion, sacrifice, and humility. She noted that the Black Nazarene symbolizes Christ’s boundless love and selfless sacrifice for humanity.
“Ang debosyon sa Black Nazarene ay nagpapaalala sa atin ng walang kapantay na pag-ibig, sakripisyo, at pagpapakumbaba ni Hesus para sa sangkatauhan,” (The devotion to the Black Nazarene reminds us of Jesus Christ’s incomparable love, sacrifice, and humility,) Duterte said, as she acknowledged the millions of devotees who take part in the yearly observance.
She also recognized the unwavering commitment of devotees who, despite physical hardship and challenges, continue to express their faith through the procession and other religious practices associated with the feast. According to the Vice President, each step taken by the faithful strengthens not only personal belief but also the collective faith of the nation.
The Vice President further stressed that the Feast of the Black Nazarene goes beyond tradition and ritual. She described it as a call for introspection—an opportunity for individuals to reflect on their shortcomings, seek forgiveness, and express gratitude for the blessings they have received.
“Nawa'y magsilbing inspirasyon ang Itim na Nazareno upang patuloy nating isabuhay ang turo ng pag-ibig at pagtitiwala sa plano ng Diyos,” (As we celebrate, may the Black Nazarene inspire us to live out the teachings of love, humility, and trust in God’s plan,) she said.
The Feast of the Black Nazarene, observed every January 9, is one of the largest religious gatherings in the Philippines, drawing millions of devotees who participate in the Traslación and other faith-based activities as a manifestation of their devotion and hope. #

Sa kanyang mensahe, sinabi ng Pangalawang Pangulo na ang taunang pagdiriwang ay patunay ng malalim na pananampalatayang nakaugat sa debosyon, sakripisyo, at pagpapakumbaba. Ayon kay Duterte, ang Itim na Nazareno ay sumisimbolo sa walang kapantay na pag-ibig at sakripisyo ni Hesukristo para sa sangkatauhan.
Binanggit din niya ang walang humpay na debosyon ng milyun-milyong deboto na taun-taong lumalahok sa mga gawain ng kapistahan sa kabila ng hirap at pagsubok. Ayon sa Pangalawang Pangulo, bawat hakbang na tinatahak ng mga deboto ay lalong nagpapatibay hindi lamang ng personal na pananampalataya kundi pati na rin ng kolektibong paniniwala ng sambayanan.
Dagdag pa niya, ang Kapistahan ng Itim na Nazareno ay hindi lamang isang selebrasyon ng tradisyon kundi isang panawagan para sa pagninilay at pagbabalik-loob. Ito aniya ay pagkakataon upang pagnilayan ang sariling pagkukulang, paghingi ng kapatawaran, at magpasalamat sa mga biyayang tinatanggap araw-araw.
