Vice President Sara Duterte led the National Festival of Talents (NFOT) 2024, held in Naga City, Cebu, from July 7 to 11.
The competition brought together diverse talents of students from across the country.
Duterte said the event challenged young Filipino talents to do and show their best.
“Para nakikita nila yung mga magagaling din sa iba’t ibang lugar ng Pilipinas, and therefore they strive to become the best and they strive excellence doon sa kanilang talents at nakikita din ng iba pang mag-aaral na pwedeng maging isang mag-aaral na may iba pang talent maliban sa academics at pwedeng sumali sa ganitong competition,” (This allows them to see the outstanding talents from various parts of the Philippines, motivating them to strive for excellence in their own talents. It also shows other students that they can be talented in areas beyond academics and encourages them to participate in such competitions,) VP Sara said.
The Vice President expressed her gratitude to the teachers for their unwavering support and guidance to the students.
“Malaki ang pasasalamat ko sa lahat ng ating mga trainers, mga coaches, mga teachers sa inyong paggabay sa ating mga learners, (I am very thankful to all of our trainers, coaches and teachers for guiding our learners,) VP Sara said.
“Let’s show the world what’s the best of the Filipino learners can offer in terms of talents,” she added.
Seventeen regions from public and private schools across the country, spanning elementary to secondary levels, participated in the competition.
The event was also open to students from the Alternative Learning System (ALS), Indigenous Peoples Education, Special Needs Education Program, and Madrasah Education Program.
At the conclusion, Region IV-A CALABARZON secured the championship, followed by the Bicol Region, Davao Region, and Central Luzon.
Meanwhile, the NFOT 2025 is scheduled to be held in Ilocos Region.

Sa pamamagitan ng nasabing kompetisyon, pinagtipon nito ang mga magkaibang talento ng mga estudyante mula sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa.
Ayon kay Inday Sara, isang plataporma ang naturang kompetisyon sa mga batang Pilipino upang maipakita ang kanilang mga talento.
“Para nakikita nila ang mga magagaling mula sa iba’t ibang lugar ng Pilipinas, at dahil dito, nagsisikap silang maging pinakamahusay at ipakita ang kahusayan sa kanilang mga talento. Nakikita rin ng iba pang mga estudyante na sila ay pwedeng maging mag-aaral na may iba pang talento maliban sa academics at maaari silang sumali sa ganitong kompetisyon,” sabi ni VP Sara.
Ipinahayag ng Bise Presidente ang kanyang pasasalamat sa mga guro para sa kanilang walang kondisyong suporta at gabay sa mga estudyante.
“Malaki ang pasasalamat ko sa lahat ng ating mga trainers, coaches, at mga guro sa inyong paggabay sa ating mga learners,” dagdag ni VP Sara.
“Ipakita natin sa mundo kung ano ang pinakamahusay na maiaalok ng mga batang Filipino sa larangan ng talento,” aniya pa.
Labimpitong rehiyon mula sa mga pampubliko at pribadong paaralan sa buong bansa, mula elementarya hanggang sekondarya ang lumahok sa kompetisyon.
Bukod dito, bukas din ang kaganapan para sa mga estudyanteng mula sa Alternative Learning System (ALS), Indigenous Peoples Education, Special Needs Education Program, at Madrasah Education Program.
Sa pagtatapos, nakuha ng Rehiyon IV-A CALABARZON ang kampeonato, sinundan ng Bicol Region, Davao Region, at Central Luzon.
Samantala, ang NFOT 2025 ay nakatakdang ganapin sa Ilocos Region.
