In a heartfelt message, Duterte acknowledged the pain and hardship endured by families and communities affected by the disaster, while urging them not to lose faith and hope despite the devastation.
“We are fervently praying for your safety in Cebu and other parts of the Visayas affected by the earthquake and aftershocks. We ask God to grant comfort to those who have lost loved ones, and to provide relief and strength for those holding their families together amid property loss and damage,” VP Sara said.
She also commended the resilience of the Visayan people, noting that their strength and unity would be vital in overcoming the tragedy, “May you find strength in one another and may the legendary Visayan warmth and resilience shine through amidst this deep sorrow.”
Currently, the Office of the Vice President Disaster Operations Center (OVP-DOC), together with the OVP – Cebu, Bohol, and Siquijor Satellite Office, is at the San Remigio Sports Complex in Cebu Province for our relief operations.
