Vice President Sara Duterte recently traveled to Mindanao to lead the official inauguration of two newly relocated satellite offices of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) in key regions of the island last May 06.
In Cotabato City, situated within the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), Vice President Duterte attended the opening of the relocated OVP-BARMM Satellite Office, now located at 3rd Street, Don E. Sero, Rosary Heights V.
During her visit, the Vice President took time to meet and personally check in with the personnel of the OVP-BARMM Satellite Office.
She also participated in a tree-planting activity held in Barangay Biniruan, Poblacion 9 — an area previously affected by armed conflict in Mindanao — as part of OVP's commitment to environmental sustainability and community healing.
In a separate engagement, the Vice President proceeded to Zamboanga City to lead the inauguration of the new location of the OVP-Western Mindanao Satellite Office, now situated along Mayor Jaldon Street, corner Governor Alvarez in Barangay Canelar where she was joined by Satellite Office Lead Mike Saavedra.
While in Zamboanga, Vice President Duterte also reaffirms to various sectors, including women's groups about the office's dedication to inclusive and accessible public service despite current financial limitations.
“The most in-demand project of the Office of the Vice President is Burial and Medical Assistance,” she said during her visit. “Unfortunately, the House of Representatives removed this line item, so we couldn’t allocate a budget for it. We apologize for this but rest assured that our service will not stop.”
The Vice President emphasized that, despite budgetary constraints, the OVP continues to operate its Disaster Operations Center (DOC) and its flagship "PAGBABAGO" Campaign, which promotes education among the youth and includes an ambitious goal of planting one million trees nationwide.
The OVP currently operates ten satellite offices across the Philippines to ensure that its programs and services are accessible to Filipinos nationwide.
In Luzon, these are in Pangasinan, Cagayan Valley, and the Bicol Region. In the Visayas, the satellite offices serve communities in Eastern Visayas, Panay and Negros Islands, and Cebu, Bohol, and Siquijor.
Meanwhile, in Mindanao, the OVP maintains four satellite offices situated in Southern Mindanao, Caraga, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), and Western Mindanao.
These satellite offices aim to bring the services of the Office of the Vice President closer to Filipinos across the archipelago, especially in underserved and remote communities.

“The most in-demand project of the Office of the Vice President is Burial and Medical Assistance,” wika ni VP Sara. “Unfortunately, the House of Representatives removed this line item, so we couldn’t allocate a budget for it. We apologize for this but rest assured that our service will not stop.”
